Megan Krystine Hester
As the Community Relations Director for Village Green Alzheimer’s Care Home, Megan Hester is both diligent in the care of Seniors and committed to the profession. She joined Village Green in 2013 after pursing a career in Dentistry, with many years of experience in Senior care prior to dentistry she decided to follow her true calling. Megan started learning and interacting with people that were diagnosed with Dementia at the age of 8 years old. As a young child she would accompany her mother to the Memory Care Unit in a Nursing Home where she played games with them, helped them eat, sit and just be a companion. After years of interacting with seniors diagnosed with Dementia, she knew this is what she was meant to do. But like most kids she didn’t listen to her mother right away and went into a different career path.
Starting in 2009 Megan worked for several other large Assisted Living Communities as a Care giver, receptionist & personal care giver. Megan then realized she wanted to work on a smaller scale Assisted Living to be able to provide one-on-one care.
In 2013 she was approached by a work colleague to come be one of the first team members of a new 16 private suite Memory Care in Conroe, Texas. She was very excited about this opportunity to help better serve Seniors with Memory Impairment on a smaller scale, so she accepted. Megan soon climbed the latter with Village Green Alzheimer’s care Home. In 2015 she accepted the position as the Community Relations Director for Village Green Alzheimer’s Care Home. She helped brand the company, keep the Community full while obtaining her CALM (Certified Assisted Living Manager). Megan become one of the core team members of Village Green, as she was educated on the disease and the culture of Village Green. Village Green now has 6 Communities Conroe, Cypress, Tomball, Champions, Kingwood & Augusta Pines, with 10 more in the works.
Since then, Megan has dedicated herself to educating not only herself but the Communities in the world of Dementia.
